Mental Health

HSD, along with its partners, supports health programs in integrating and mainstreaming mental health interventions. We work with all levels of the health system, including public and private providers, to strengthen systems and build capacity to respond to the mental health needs of patients, care givers as well as health providers. Our focus is on integrating mental health services with TB, HIV and other programs.

We balance experience in high impact and cost-effective mental health (MH) interventions with the best local expertise in order to build systems rapidly and sustainably for expanding access to high quality PHC and MH integrated services. We offer a clear plan with innovative and tested approaches to design, implement and scale up and sustain the provision of comprehensive, integrated, and decentralized PHC and MH clinical and community services. Our strategies are guided by four core principles: healthcare quality; human rights; patient-centered; and sustainability.
